What it’s actually like
Your peel is carefully applied in customized layers based on your skin and treatment goals. You may feel mild tingling or warmth as the solution works, but the treatment itself is quick and well tolerated.
The real transformation happens in the days that follow. Depending on the peel, you may experience anything from light flaking to more visible peeling as dull, damaged surface cells shed away. As the skin renews, a smoother, brighter and more even complexion is revealed underneath.

The science, briefly
How it works
Chemical peels use professional-strength exfoliating acids to accelerate surface renewal and reveal smoother, brighter, more even-looking skin. Different acids work at different depths and target different concerns. Glycolic and lactic acids refine tone and texture, salicylic acid is especially effective for oil and congestion, while TCA provides deeper resurfacing and correction.
Your provider selects the formula, strength and depth based on your skin type, concerns and treatment goals.
- 01
Consultation + Skin Analysis
We begin by assessing your skin type, tone, current condition and goals to determine the peel and treatment depth best suited for you.
- 02
Prep
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared to ensure an even, controlled application. Delicate areas are protected before treatment begins.
- 03
Application
Your customized peel is carefully applied in controlled layers. You may experience warmth or tingling while your provider closely monitors the skin throughout treatment.
- 04
Finish
Depending on the formula, the peel is either neutralized or allowed to self-neutralize. We finish with soothing, hydrating skincare and SPF to protect the skin as the renewal process begins.
Straight answers
What to expect from results
Chemical peels can create everything from a subtle refresh to more significant skin renewal, depending on the formula and depth selected for your skin.
Where it shines
Peels are especially effective for improving sun damage, post-acne discoloration, uneven tone, rough texture, fine lines and congestion. As the skin renews, the complexion appears smoother, brighter and more even.
What it won't do
Chemical peels can significantly improve the skin’s surface, but deeper acne scars and skin laxity are better addressed with collagen-stimulating treatments like SkinPen® or Sofwave™. For an immediate glow without peeling or downtime, HydraFacial® may be a better fit. Melasma and more persistent pigmentation typically require an ongoing treatment and home-care plan.
How often
Results become most noticeable once the renewal process is complete and can continue to improve in the weeks that follow. Some clients choose an occasional peel for a seasonal refresh, while others benefit from a customized series. Deeper peels are performed less frequently, with your treatment schedule determined by your skin and goals.
Good to know
Your visit, start to finish
Before
- Pause retinoids and exfoliating acids for 5 to 7 days before treatment. Avoid tanning and prolonged sun exposure, and arrive with clean, makeup-free skin whenever possible. For certain peels, we may recommend a customized home-care routine to prepare your skin beforehand.
During
- Your experience will depend on the peel selected. Most are applied for just a few minutes, while treatments like Cosmelan® remain on the skin longer and are removed at home. You may feel warmth, tingling or mild stinging while the peel is working, and your provider will closely monitor your skin throughout treatment.
After
- Expect some degree of dryness, tightness or flaking depending on the depth of your peel. Visible peeling often begins within a few days and should be allowed to shed naturally. Keep your skin hydrated, protect it with SPF and pause exfoliating products until your skin has fully recovered.

Questions
Frequently asked
Prefer to ask us directly? Call or text (239) 826‑6094 and we’ll be happy to help.
It depends on the peel and its depth. Most clients experience warmth, tingling or mild stinging while the solution is working. Deeper peels may feel more intense, but the application itself is typically brief and your provider will closely monitor your skin throughout treatment.
We offer an extensive collection of professional and medical-grade peels ranging from minimal-downtime treatments to more corrective resurfacing. Options include PRX Derm Perfexion®, BioRePeelCl3 BLUE, Factor Five RDS, Face Reality acne peels, The Perfect Derma™ Peel, Cosmelan®, Global Eyecon® and fully customized peels using professional-strength acids. Your provider will select the formula, strength and depth best suited to your skin.
You don’t need to know before you arrive. Your provider will evaluate your skin type, tone, sensitivity, current condition and treatment goals before recommending the peel that makes the most sense for you.
Not necessarily. Some peels create little to no visible flaking, while more corrective treatments can cause several days of noticeable peeling. The amount of peeling does not determine how successful your treatment was. We’ll let you know exactly what to expect from the peel selected for you.
Downtime varies significantly depending on the peel. Lighter treatments may involve little more than temporary dryness or light flaking, while deeper resurfacing can involve several days of visible peeling. Your provider will review the expected downtime and aftercare with you before treatment.
Absolutely, but timing matters. More corrective peels should be scheduled well in advance to allow the skin to complete its renewal process. If your event is only a few days away, a HydraFacial® or another minimal-downtime treatment may be a better choice.
Yes, when the right peel and depth are selected. Deeper skin tones require thoughtful treatment selection because of the increased risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation following irritation. Your provider will evaluate your skin carefully and may recommend a customized home-care routine beforehand to help prepare your skin.
It depends on the peel and what we’re treating. A single treatment can provide a beautiful seasonal refresh, while concerns like pigmentation, acne or uneven texture may benefit from a customized series. Deeper peels are generally performed less frequently. We’ll create a treatment schedule based on your skin and goals.
Please let us know before your appointment. Pregnancy, nursing, current or recent isotretinoin use and a history of cold sores can all affect which treatments are appropriate and when they should be performed. We’ll determine the safest option for your skin and will never perform a peel over an active cold sore or compromised skin.
Yes. Depending on the peel and your skin, chemical peels can be incorporated into a larger treatment plan or strategically paired with treatments like HydraFacial®, microneedling or our Acne Coaching program. Your provider will determine the safest and most effective combination and timing.
Before treatment, you may be asked to pause retinoids, exfoliating acids and other potentially irritating products and avoid excessive sun exposure. After your peel, keep your skin hydrated, protect it with SPF and allow any flaking or peeling to shed naturally. Avoid exfoliating or picking at the skin while it heals. You’ll receive specific aftercare instructions based on the peel you receive.
