During Sofwave, you’ll feel a series of quick, bursts of heat as the ultrasound energy is delivered beneath the skin. The sensation comes and goes quickly with each pulse, while Sofwave’s integrated cooling helps protect and cool the surface of the skin throughout treatment.

Go
Once treatment is complete, we remove the gel, cleanse the skin and apply SPF. There’s little to no visible downtime, so you can leave and get right back to your day.

What it won't do
Sofwave provides non-surgical skin tightening, but it cannot replicate the results of a surgical facelift. Significant laxity or heavier jowling may require a surgical approach. Concerns such as pigmentation, uneven texture and acne scarring are better addressed with treatments like SkinPen®, PRX Derm Perfexion® or chemical peels.
How often

Before
- Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin whenever possible. Let us know about recent injectable treatments, medications, medical devices or implants before your appointment.
During
- After topical numbing, Sofwave delivers a series of controlled ultrasound pulses beneath the skin. You’ll feel brief, concentrated bursts of heat, with some areas feeling more intense than others. Integrated cooling helps protect the skin’s surface throughout treatment.
After
- You may experience mild redness, warmth or tenderness immediately afterward, but there is typically little to no visible downtime. You can return to your normal routine the same day.
You’re pregnant, nursing or within three months postpartum, have a pacemaker or metal or electronic implant in the treatment area, have recently taken Accutane, or have open sores, active infection or severe cystic acne in the area being treated. If you’ve recently had dermal filler, we recommend allowing at least two weeks between filler and Sofwave™.
