Microneedling at The Skin Room is designed to improve acne scars, uneven texture, fine lines and overall skin quality by stimulating your skin’s natural collagen production. We exclusively use SkinPen®, the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, for a precise and controlled treatment.
After topical numbing, SkinPen creates thousands of controlled microchannels in the skin, triggering its natural renewal process and encouraging fresh collagen and elastin. Most clients experience minimal discomfort, typically describing the treatment as a light vibration or pressure.

How it works
SkinPen® creates thousands of precise microchannels in the skin, activating its natural repair response and stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin. This process, known as collagen induction, helps strengthen and renew the skin from within, gradually improving texture, firmness, fine lines and the appearance of acne scars.
Because microneedling works without heat or light energy and does not target pigment, it is a safe and effective treatment option for all skin tones.
Cleanse + Numb
We begin by thoroughly cleansing the skin and applying a topical numbing cream, allowing plenty of time for it to take effect.
Treat
SkinPen® is carefully passed over each treatment area at a customized depth based on your skin, concerns and treatment goals.
Hydrate
Once microneedling is complete, we apply a soothing hyaluronic acid gel to replenish hydration and support the skin immediately following treatment.
Restore
You’ll leave with your skin protected and simple aftercare instructions to follow at home. From there, your skin’s natural repair process begins, stimulating fresh collagen and elastin in the weeks ahead.

What to expect from results
These are the results most clients can expect, and the things a treatment can’t do.
Where it shines
It softens indented acne scars, an FDA-cleared use with independent reviews behind it. It also smooths rough texture, fine lines and neck wrinkles, and improves the look of pores. The change comes from your own collagen, so it looks like your skin.
What it won't do
Loose, sagging skin is a job for Sofwave. An active breakout needs to clear first, with Aerolase or Acne Coaching. Results take weeks, so start well before an event.
How often
We usually recommend a series of three, four weeks apart. The change shows around weeks eight to twelve and keeps building for six months. One or two sessions a year maintain it.

Every skin tone is a good fit, from very fair to deep, because there's no heat and nothing targets pigment. It does its best work on acne scars, texture and neck wrinkles, and it's often our first recommendation for scars in deeper skin tones.

A series of three treatments spaced approximately four weeks apart is a great starting point for many clients. Deeper acne scars or more significant texture concerns may benefit from additional sessions. Your treatment plan will be customized based on your skin and goals.
Your skin may look smoother and more refreshed as it heals, but microneedling results are progressive. More noticeable improvements develop in the weeks and months following treatment as new collagen and elastin are produced.
Expect mild redness for approximately 24 to 72 hours, similar to a mild sunburn. Some clients may also experience temporary dryness, tightness or light flaking as the skin recovers. We’ll provide specific aftercare instructions following your treatment.
Yes, but timing matters. If you’re planning a series, we recommend starting several months before your event so your skin has time to heal and your results can develop. If your event is only a few days away, a HydraFacial® is usually a better choice.
